There are three split flange sections to the Electromagnetic Pump (EMP™) system, one each side of the EMP, and one on the return leg. If a blockage occurs in the systems tubes, these split flanges can be removed giving access to the "slug" of metal or blockage. Once this blockage has been cut through, the chargewell can be fully retracted to complete the cleaning process.
The unit consists of two mild steel machined halves, with a pre-cut bore that houses an N–17 ring and a silicon nitride ring.
