| These screen captures are taken from CFD modelling of an EMP system when connected to a sidewell furnace. Typical flow patterns of the aluminium within the main chamber and sidewell are predicted and analysed and show how the EMP system minimises temperature differentials within the furnace. The temperature gradient profile on the right is sampled at different levels in the aluminium bath. The EMP system installation is very flexible, enabling the location of inlet and return legs to be adjusted so as to obtain the optimal flow pattern in the furnace. The location of the EMP connection considers the touchdown point of the burners to maximize the very powerful heat sink capability of the EMP system. |
